Laser assisted hatching is a laboratory process which helps embryos to get attached to the wall of a woman’s womb. For this, it needs to break out or ‘hatch’ from its outer layer. Thinning this outer layer or making a hole in it leads embryos to hatch and increases the chances of pregnancy during the IVF/ICSI processes. It is recommended in cases of:
- Advanced maternal age (more than 37 years).
- Poor quality or slow developing embryos.
- Two or more previously failed IVF cycles.
